LIA,I too almost made the mistake of saying SRV was some sort of Jimi clone and were both so wrong. Stevie obviously a devote of Jimi but clearly his forte is staight hard Texas blues and swing. I've seen them both and I never compared them w/each other w/ the caviate that when he did his 3-4 song Hendrix interlude you'd have to be impressed.I don't say Kenny Wayne Sheepards' a clone of SRV just another slinger w/ similar tone, technic, and equipment. Eric Johnson can also be grouped into the Hendrix>SRV>KWS thread.I have to dissagree that SRV was a mere shadow of Hendrix. There is one thing that I don't understand about the death of SRV. Why was he on the copter alone and not the band. Besisides the pilot and his manager I don't recall hearing anyone else dying which of course is the only good thing that happened out of this tragedy.Just curious while yes it's his band but why only him on that chopper. This always bothered me.
